It’s been some time since I last blogged. I’ve been revising my second novel tentatively entitled CASUALTIES. There never seems to be a natural end to a writing project, only an arbitrary stopping point if you want to get it off your desk and into print. In addition to writing I’ve been traveling and reading. I try not to read fiction while writing fiction. However, I re-read IN COLD BLOOD by Truman Capote and presently I am half way through Tolstoy’s WAR AND PEACE. Both men appear to write effortlessly, although I know the appearance of ease belies hard work. I highly recommend both books. Next on my list is DUBLINERS by James Joyce and perhaps I will re-read some nasty little fiction by Harry Crews.
